DFI Reflection - Day 3 - Media

Reflection 

What has worked for me since the last DFI session?

  • One tab
  • Blogging - Embedding Video in Blogs
  • Google Keep
  • I have used and showed some colleagues at school the shortcuts for the calendar week, month and day views (CTRL W, M, D).

What hasn’t worked (or made sense)

  • Have not used the Snooze tab as of yet

Sight sound and motion. Video in the classroom is about what you can do about it. Some basic Tips:
  • Filming with the window behind them
  • Tripod
  • Coffee cup holder
  • Always in landscape mode
  • cell phone
  • Quiet room
  • Screencastify

Can download Google slides as a PNG and upload them into WeVideo as a video. Goes well with the kaupapa as rewindable learning. 

Roscommon School has excellent film making embedded into its pedagogy.

Embedding an image after I have copied the code once 'Published to the web.'

  • A picture really shows 1000 words!
  • Consistent font
  • Emotional connections
  • Sight, Sound and Emotion
  • Slides should be supporting your talk
  • Add text in speaker notes
  • The font needs to be loud and clear
  • Embed slides into Google site. When slides are updated, they will update on the website. Hyperlinks and videos can be included and accessed from the slides in one place.

  • Creating slides and embedding a slide from another slide deck, paste and select link with the original. This will update any changes made to the original on the master slide deck.
  • Use the online voice recorder to record audio onto your slides.
