Esports - Rocket Masters Competition Invercargill

 Rocket Masters Competition Invercargill

Esports - Rocket Masters

Over the weekend between 6-8th May 2022, a team of 9 students accompanied by Satchet Singh and Mr Bolton-Hampton took part in an esports tournament in Invercargill.

Papakura High School was the only team competing at the tournament from the North Island. Our students did really well and were fantastic ambassadors for the school, with two of the three teams placing in the top 10 (meaning they won prize money).

Some of the teams have been training together since at least the start of the year and our students have been training for three weeks, so an awesome achievement.

Charlotte Eastham, the only girl on our team, performed so well that she has been earmarked to potentially compete at the next Commonwealth Games as esports will feature there. Very well done to all the participants: Charlotte Eastham, Brody Gwatkin, Kingston Hancy, George Mackey, Wairua Moon, Tito Paseka, Jay Patel, Shacon Rehu and Dylan Toms and huge thanks to Mr Singh and Mr Bolton-Hampton for giving our students the opportunity to participate in this event.
